Road infrastructure to be improved: Chairman CDA
Islamabad: September 23, 2016 Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sheikh Anser Aziz has said that in order to boost business activities and flourish industries in Islamabad, road infrastructure will be improved and allied facilities would be ensured. Furthermore, comprehensive strategy would be evolved to expand the industries in Islamabad so that growing needs of the city could be catered.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of Islamabad Industrial Forum held here at CDA Headquarters on Friday. The delegation which was headed by the President of the Islamabad Industrial Forum Mian Akram Farid briefed the Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA about the problems being faced by the industrialists.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz said that Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and CDA will take consolidated steps to resolve the problems of business community of the city. He said that concerned formations have been directed to mechanism which facilitates early redressal of the problems of the business community and unnecessary delays in this regard could be avoided. He said that in the wake of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), industries in Islamabad would be prepared to meet the future and modern requirements so that production of these industries could be supplied in the other parts of the country as well.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz also directed to constitute a committee comprising of the officers of MCI, CDA and representatives of traders which will compile and submit its recommendations for the solution of genuine issues of traders community particularly of the industrial sector so that a comprehensive and consolidated strategy could be evolved in this regard.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser aziz said that on the directions of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, a Building Control Authority is also being constituted and representation of traders would be made in that authority, which would help prepare and effective enforcement of building laws.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz said that CDA has approved allocation of space for mosque and dispensary in the Industrial area and concerned formations have been directed to initiate work in this regard at the earliest. He said that although MCI was formed few months back yet we have consolidated program and steps have been taken to give this program a practical shape. He said that residents of the city will witness visible changes in the near future.

Earlier, president of Islamabad Industrial Forum, Mian Akran Farid briefed the Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA about their issues including repair / construction of Dry Port Road, extension in lease and change of trades of industrial plots and construction of mosque and dispensary in the Industrial Area. He also assured full cooperation of industrialists to MCI and CDA.
